This is a great write up, and a technology that I'd almost completely forgotten about. I don't think IrDA is irrelevant at all. And I had no idea it was still being supported in modern chips.
If the instance supports those languages you can highlight them in your profile. If you don't see them, then they haven't been enable instance wide.

Clipious with Invidious backend. The app is slick and works with any Invidious instance, logged in our not.
Try clearing your browser cache on the devices that can't connect.
I'm not sure what OS you are using but now is a good time to set a static IP if you haven't already.
Ok, also if you can give a bit more info it may help. How is it installed, is on the pi or the old computer, are you using a reverse proxy, are you port forwarding anything via the router, etc.
