Wow that is so frustrating. They must not have tested it in the draft deck builder ๐ฌ
Ok, I think I know what they changed. You first have to remove all copies of the card from your deck, so that it looks like this:
THEN add back only the non-styled cards to your deck. You may have to click the white arrow at the bottom of the card to expand the options.
If you click the card style card, you will have to remove all copies from your deck and re-add them I believe.
I believe they changed the interface, actually. I don't see the original icon and you can't seem to change styles from the deck builder itself anymore. I honestly cannot figure out how to remove the card style from any of the cards in my decks now. This COULD be a bug but I will check it out more today and see if I can figure it out.
Edit -- see other comment, I think I figured it out
I do know that they introduced a new mechanism for switching card styles. There is an arrow at the bottom of the card which should allow you to see all available versions of the card. If you don't see the button in the top right to change art style in the deck builder something must be broken, that seems like a bug. If you have time would you mind posting a screenshot.
I think $2.50 per land style is just too much. I like these, but you gotta be kidding me at those prices. They should be 500 gold or 100 gems each imo.
I liked WOE a lot, too. I drafted fewer than 10 times in total, but I thought it was a really well designed set and fun to play. LCI so far to me does not seem appealing at all. I don't know what it is, but I kinda wish we could go back to WOE now lol. It seems like way too much jammed into a set with no real identity but I'm curious what others think.
I see what he's saying but I think removing Standard would be a colossal mistake. They would have to replace it with some other low powered constructed format because I think that is in fact a big market of competitive players.
Get em while they're hot!
Oh cool I missed that. It definitely explains things but honestly a few points:
The top 20 cards showed up in 20% of all games played during the event.
That doesn't seem high enough to me. Channel and Demonic Tutor were played a lot because no one has been able to play with them before. They never posted what the actual single stats were for Channel or Demonic Tutor but even if those hit 1 in 5 games, that doesn't even seem that high at all to me. Certainly not to at least see what happens in round 2 of the event.
Yea you've correctly identified the paradox in Historic. I think they kind of screwed up with Alchemy being forced in. They should have made a "Historic Alchemy" as a separate format. Historic would be amazing as a vintage style format where these cards were all legal. I personally thought it was fine but perhaps they have data on the game play and it could have shown cards like Channel were played in too high a %. Release the data!
Well this sounds really awesome actually. I don't love the Alchemy cards but I have been wanting an Arena Vintage format for a long long time.
