I changed to Metager https://metager.org/ … it’s the only one I’ve found that still respects yer "string search"

Nice, yeah AV Linux comes with a lot of pre-installed stuff so hoping it’s as easy as it seems :) I do like to tinker but not when I’m supposed to be doing other work haha

I'm just using emacs org-mode and Obsidian for task management, and keeping track of my learning new code-y things... but no backlinks or anything yet. Was trying Zettlr as well. Waiting for an excuse to get really fancy with it.
