Startpage doesn't track, and you can view result pages via their anonymous proxy. Use that with tor or a VPN and you're set. YouTube doesn't like startpages anon proxy though.

Duckduckgo doesn't track either, and you can view youtube videos in ddg's site.

There's a difference between the want for convergence with tech for all, if they want

Vs.

We're going to transfer your consciousness into a virtual world and use you for biofuel while we, the powerful enjoy the wealth of your sacrifice.

It’s called the dark enlightenment.

This article warns from way back in 2017 https://qz.com/1007144/the-neo-fascist-philosophy-that-underpins-both-the-alt-right-and-silicon-valley-technophiles

They also want to use you for biofuel.

No, I’m not fucking kidding. These people are pure evil

“The trouble with the biodiesel solution is that no one would want to live in a city whose public transportation was fueled, even just partly, by the distilled remains of its late underclass. However, it helps us describe the problem we are trying to solve. Our goal, in short, is a humane alternative to genocide.”

The 53-year-old Tesla and SpaceX CEO told Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson in an interview last July that the decision to build a supercomputer in Memphis evoked references, at least in part, to the Memphis of ancient Egypt and its pantheon of gods.

“Perhaps that’s where our new god will come from,” Musk said.

It is not age verification.

It is privacy invading, morality policing, de-anonymizing, state surveillance.

Nothing less.

PS. If you want to download a video from a site that doesn't have a download button, use the Inspect feature (right click on the page, not the video, and click inspect)

*On the Network tab - Sort by size. Reload page. Find the video. Open the video in new tab. It will be just the video. Right click and save as, or click the download button, or click the 3 dot menu button and select download.

On Firefox you can often bypass this entirely by shift + right click. And should see a save video as option. If not, the inspect feature works the same.

For hls/TS videos (m3u8 streams), if you reallllly want, you can copy the link for the stream and use VLC to convert the stream to a file.

This also often lets you download at higher resolution than they offer to download.

Yes, I porn.

*forgot Network tab

And thanks for all the suggestions. I'd rather not install browser plugins if I can do it without. CLI tools are cool though. The less I need to install the better.

Things I grew a couple years ago I can't grow now. There's no spring - straight to 25, 30, and this week 45°

I think I might try planting in august for some things.

Took forever for some things to even come up. So long I forgot I planted them.

Potatoes died, parsnips never came up at all. Tomatoes started very slow.

It's impossible to grow cilantro now. Or lettuce. But basil and parsley love the heat and sun. and green onion are ok with heat but not sun.

Carrots are doing well

Cucumbers, beans and peas are all vining crazy good.

And my jalapeño plants are thriving.

It is chaos.

For demons, see: politician, billionaire, Joel Olsteen.

On the topic of angels, though, Ezekiel has some crazy descriptions of angels in that book.

Since forever I've thought they sounded like how modern folk describe UFO/uap's.

Lead the way.

How does a tree (or any plant, really), know to evolve to produce a delicious fruit or a poison berry, a seed inside an impenetrable shell, or invent a type of flying machine, in order to reproduce? (Each of these examples exists in my backyard)

How do they receive feedback about their evolutionary experiments? How do they know it worked/failed. [10]

Loyalty should never demand reward. Loyalty itself is the reward. Else it's just prostitution by another name. (This thought inspired by golf)

Jerboa was the first client i tried. I've tried several others. Jerboa is my lemmy app.

The only thing that bothers me is after an update (this happens using both izzy and fdroid repos) upon relaunch i get "network error". It looks like i'm still logged in but my username is gone from the sidebar. If i try to log in i get json errors popping up in red text into the ui. Not a dialogue window, but within the background graphics.

I have to manually log out, close app, and login again.

This issue has been persistent across a number of updates since i started using the app.

I use a vpn/dns/firewall but have the app excluded/bypassed, except the dns (dnscrypt/doh/tls fallback.) Dns allows everything it should. ?

Android 13, may security updates.

Images show dns from store refresh to relaunch after update. Will pull logcat to see if it shows anything.
