Yeah code style people are bad teammates. I work primarily on C# projects; code style is reasonably consistent between most devs. If you dive into someone else's code, it may not be the same style as you prefer, but you can always easily understand what is going on and change things that you need.
I successfully staunched a code linter requirement at my previous job because the team was pretty inconsistent on what we agreed was 'good style' and I just mentioned that things were going fine without any style guide for now and we should just keep things in a grey area instead. People's brains work differently and you should let your devs work the way their brain prefers as much as possible.

I think there is historical precedent that wreckers would use custom pronouns to 'make a statement' about them through ridicule. We validate the display name to make sure pronouns are from the approved list.
We reduced functionality of the custom display name so that we can force pronoun handling for all users. Lemmygrad just allows you to set whatever you want as display name.

hell yeah, great thread. i got my start in programming from contributing to emulators like PPSSPP and Citra. If you've used cheats or fps limit in either of those emulators, thats from me :)

All political ideologies are authoritarian. People who don't acknowledge this are just liberals who grew up in the west and assume everything that happens is natural, and not something forced upon them.
I mean, all politics is about advocating for your positions..? thats the point of doing politics. Our positions are obviously what differentiate us from conservatives/liberals. Hexbear tends to be a bit more acidic about politics because most of us have been abused in some way by the current global order under neoliberalism.
