As far as I’m concerned, not understanding this mentality is something to be proud of.

Please don’t copy it? This tactic is effective, and I’ve been reading about it for years. It’s been copied plenty, and nothing that Portland “officials” say will change that.
A gamer on Twitch gave it a 3 or 4 out of ten. The level design is poor - lots of backtracking for no reason, and too many empty, pointless rooms. Weapon combos can be broken if the enemy simply breathes on you, meaning combos are useless and frustrating to try and actually use. The only weapon worth your time is the axe.
The comparison to DS1 is extremely generous. That’s clearly what the devs were going for, but the execution is lacking. Wait for it to go on sale.
