“It’s truly disheartening,” the defense attorney lamented, “how quick people are to assume the worst without any basis in fact.”

Yeah. It breaks my heart when people make negative assumptions about someone who was convicted for abusing children.

I can’t stand redistricting shenanigans like this. All maps for all states should be done by computer. Any politician who has a problem with the computer’s results can explain why before a bipartisan committee. The committee can decide whether to implement any changes.

That’s it. No theatrics, no bullshit.

All of what you said is true, but it’s still odd to see a suburban house with no driveway. Odd enough that I’m curious about it, too.

Did you ever get to use one of the old iPods with a click wheel interface? That thing is a genuine legend of engineering, and deservedly so. They definitely spent a lot on marketing, but marketing wasn’t their only advantage.

I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt, but this isn’t a user interface issue. As I understand it (please correct me if I’m wrong), AI seems to have hit a wall. Code optimization and improvements in computing power can only make AI incrementally better. They can’t solve hallucinations and related problems.

Unless Apple really has some serious magic up their sleeve, they’ll just be another player in the increasingly crowded AI market.

They’re not inventors, but they’re major innovators when it comes to making stuff more user friendly. I have my complaints about Apple, but this isn’t one of them.

Real version: Anon actually did eat all that, but instead of going to the university library, he shit the bed while snuggling with his Sailor Moon pillow.

Israel will have to rebuild trust after the Netanyahu administration just like America will have to rebuild trust after the Trump administration. It’s a terrible situation for everyone involved, but if handled with sincerity and respect for human dignity, it’s not an insurmountable problem.

I was expecting it to be just another post-apocalyptic drama, and I’ve seen so many mediocre ones that Station 11 wasn’t high on my list. I was very wrong.

Station 11 was well written, well cast, and interesting (if confusing at times).

Just about everyone looks better when they smile. It’s true regardless of gender. I don’t see where sexism enters the equation.

I feel pretty oblivious. What am I missing?

Ever have one of those close conversations with some, and walk away thinking “yeh… I’m a good guy” (or whatever pronoun you choose, of course). I just had that happen. It’s a nice, reassuring feeling.

Is it because of the instance they’re posting from, some kind of “award”, or what?
