I feel like a lot of people in the Bears fan base have an unhealthy expectation around QB play and aren't content to settle for anything less than "generational" talent.

If Fields keeps playing like he did against DET, DEN, and WSH, the organization will gain more for trading one of their first round picks + getting more talent to help Fields win than resetting with a QB who has unknown capabilities and will suffer from the same sort of pressure that causes a lot of guys to fail here.

My first game when I was eight which happened to be Mike Singletary‘s last game with the team. They trounced the Pittsburgh Steelers and my dad knew of a place where you could go after the game and wait at the end of a tunnel where all the players would run through to get to the locker room. Dad stood there, pretending to blow his nose next to the garbage can until the team came running through. Singletary was last with a bunch of press around him, and Dad told me “Reach out and touch him!” and I accidentally slapped his ass.

This article is saying he's still clearly the #1 QB in the draft, whereas I feel like a lot of people lately have been quibbling with the idea that he's a generational talent based on a tough stretch of games.
