I've watched the first two episodes in a streaming site.

The story is OK; the protag basically carries with him the cheats of being a hero/eiyuu from the earlier world into the new one, and they don't get detected as a gift so people think that he sucks.

Story pacing is a bit rushed; suddenly he gets banished from his father's realm, then finds his [former?] fiancée who's also the princess who's also the saint, then the hero/yuusha, they kill a dragon while protecting a child, he gets to know an elf who works as blacksmith raised by a dorf, and now there's suddenly some sinister plot that his father is part of.

Damn, it has been so long since I watched the original series... I forgot how heartwarming it was.

I like the idea of telling how Lawrence met Holo through a story within the story. (Also, if you're a fan of the series, you probably noticed right off the bat whom Holo was telling that story to.) And, overall, the first episode left me pleased - it was just the right amount of detail for me, while focusing on their relationship.

I wonder what the church would do if they discovered that Makoto has more mana than the bug/goddess. Not that they'll ever know!

The new OP has Makoto wearing that power ranger costume made by Mio. Given his mana matter... vest? golem? mecha?, he'll likely do it to appease Mio, not as a serious weapon.

Sunraku, you sucker! No crystal scorpion stinger for you~ now where's my free carrot?

I was satisfied with the overall series, but as @ludrol said it was an awkward place to stop it.

Forgot about Lv2 kara Cheat! That's another "must watch".

What concerns me about Re:Monster is that they seem to be rushing the adaptation quite a bit, based on the trailer.

I really, really tried to like 7th Prince. I don't know why it didn't "click" with me.

Its one of the better Anime this season, sadly underrated but due to the extremely heavy Competition It was expected to be underrated.

100% agree - this season got lots of good stuff like Frieren, Shangri-La Frontier, Lv99 Last Boss, Dungeon Meshi, etc. Saijaku Tamer was good, but competing with bigger stuff.

One thing that I really enjoyed is that they avoided that "it's the weakest, but actually..." trope. It isn't a bad trope, but a bit overused already.

Well, that's it. The Organisation was crushed, Ivy got a huge reward that amounts to a bazillion field mice, and she went back to travel with Sora and Ciel.

At least she could tell the people around her the truth of being a starless tamer. And now her travels take a different goal - instead of running away, she's looking for new stuff.

I don't expect a new season for this series, but it was an enjoyable ride.

"Isekai" is "another world". Everything else is debatable.

Some are rather strict on isekai being a trope: the protagonist of the work is transported or reincarnated into another world. Some however see it as a genre, defined by the presence of the trope and potentially additional factors (such as resemblance to other isekai works).

I could go some extra length to say everything wrong with this text, and a bit more, but I'll TL;DR. The text fails to take into account that

  1. different audiences forge different associations with the tropes contained within a work;
  2. people from "random" countries (such as the author, or me) are not the target audience of those Japanese works.
  3. there are a thousand themes to explore within fantasy. Social commentary is only one of them, and by no means obligatory.
  4. every theme that you insert into a work dilutes the value of the other themes within it.

Once you do take those things into account, most of the text crumbles.

The ending left me a bit dissatisfied to be honest. Okay, they tied the stooge couple (prince x Alicia), killed the demon lord, had Alicia backstab Yumiella (instead of the two stooges)... but what about Eleonora?

Small cute detail: Ryuu following Patrick's orders. It shows how much time Patrick and Yumiella spent together, to the point that her dragon-sized puppy trusts him.
