Purdy and Stroud have easily better cases

Fields isn't "The problem", but he's not the solution either and he is "a problem".

There are a lot of positions in the NFL where you can contend with a mediocre player - Quarterback is not one of them.

I mean yes, we need to get rid of the coaches too.

I'm willing to give Poles one mulligan on the coaches, but he'd better fire these chucklefucks the day after the season ends and nail the next hire.

People here believe so much stupid shit that would get you laughed out of threads on r/NFL. To be fair, most team subs are where the crazies hang out.

The Bears fans that post over on the main NFL sub are on average way smarter than the average commenter here.

Tons of whining about the refs in the thread.... while I don't think the game was particularly well officiated - it was pretty fairly officiated. Both teams got their share of shitty calls in their favor.

Weird call there - I know you can get back if you go offside.

I guess they are saying he didn't force them to jump?

Fields is 20th in ANY/A this year

Fields was 33rd in ANY/A last year.

So he's improved, but still below average.

Matt Nagy was way better than Eberflus. Nagy didn't work out but he's the kind of guy we should be hiring.

Nagy will almost certainly get another shot at being a HC - Eberflus is probably not going to get another shot.

Some good news!

Bears DT Gervon Dexter (11.3%) is now 2nd in pass rush win rate amongst rookie DTs (Jalen Carter 19.1%).

Ahead of 1st round picks like Calijah Kancey (10.5%), Mazi Smith (10.4%), and Bryan Bresee (6%)

Big picture yesterday was probably a good result:

- Almost all of us want this coaching staff gone; if they win these games the chances they stay around are probably much higher

- If you are a "Keep Fields" person he played fairly well and mostly avoided big mistakes/negative plays

- If you are a "draft a new QB" person Fields played well enough to keep his trade value in a decent spot

- This team is winning nothing this year - and even a single win could have a major negative impact on our draft position

TLDR - if you really want Eberflus gone then painful losses where he looks terrible probably give us the best chance of that happenning.

It would be interesting to separate out passing from running. I believe the top line PFF grade is a composite.

Fields isn't the problem, but he's also not the solution either.

I still haven't seen much evidence he's a QB you can contend for a SB with. He played fine yesterday, but if we have the #1 or #2 pick you have to take a Williams or Maye.
