Thankfully OEMs use smart defaults and its the current behaviour as before.
1st they removed the sdcard from the A56, now this.
Except updates there are even lesser reasons to consider samsung. Especially, when chinese OEMs beat them in the hardware game.
Freedom to limit you
The play store version uses properitary closed sourced libraries meanwhile the Foss fdroid version uses open source libraries. Except background erase feature it does not have any missing features and as a bonus lacks analytics or google dependencies.
I want one for samsung
The cons make it seriously unappealing to even consider as an option. Not to mention the unsymmetrical camera array.
Pros
- Quirky design, IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass protection.
- Excellent burst performance.
- Bright and sharp OLED display with HDR10+ support.
- Versatile triple camera setup.
- Clean, fast software with long-term Android support and fun AI/Glyph features.
- Very good stereo speakers and overall multimedia experience.
Cons
- LTPS display lacks LTPO tech - limited refresh rate handling.
- Only average battery life and charging speeds for the price point.
- Thermal management is poor under sustained loads - heavy throttling observed.
- Pricey compared to better-equipped competitors in the same segment.
The 12GB will not actually be available for apps. 4GB will be reserved for gemini nano. So, in effect you will only have 8GB of RAM.
Most already do. This is the 1st we have been hearing for a while. Consistently since the Pixel 4a
I have used cheaper budget and midrange phones. To date I have never experienced this issue ever.
This is the 1st I have been hearing since the Pixel 4a. Let's not justify google.
I have a 3yrs old samsung, heck even a 2019 redmi smartphone which work and did not get a swollen battery. 2yrs is a very short timeframe for battery being toast. Goes to show the way google cheaps out on battery components.
Most chips & SOCs manufactured on TSMC became more expensive.
Samsung could gain some market share considering it will be the cheaper option.
