It’s super risky. Democrats might lose the executive, judicial and legislative and to make matters worse, their specific policy points they are pushing might - just messing.

The democrats have nothing left to lose but the DNC leadership would rather see Trump in office than risk a social democrat hurting their wealth/power. The party leadership doesn’t mind losing power as long as they keep their power within the party. They would rather see a weaker America where they retain power than do anything to fix it.
