[–] liaizon@social.wake.st 1 points 6 months ago (3 children)

#ClubsAll (a threadiverse/lemmy/mbin/piefed web frontend project) want to open source it and are looking for someone to do a code review/security analysis first... Are you into security and the fediverse *and* stuff being open source? Then respond here!

There are now multiple browser extensions to redirect outgoing links to subs in the threadiverse to your local instance of choice

Kbin Linker Extension
https://github.com/daniel-lxs/kbin-link

Lemmy Linker Extension
https://github.com/FackJox/lemmy-link

This is a major downside to how federation works currently and something we shouldn't need extensions for, but as a stopgap solution I am glad they exist.

What is a Fediverse Galaxy?

As more and more instances are providing multiple services under the same management, we need a term to talk about this type of arrangement. A Fediverse Galaxy is a collection of federated software that is provided by the same admin or collective.

@memmy

Wow lemmyverse.net just crossed 800 running instances of Lemmy that it's tracking!

Go check out some some communities! https://lemmyverse.net and follow a few from whatever software you are using. If you are searching from Mastodon replace the ! with an @ in the !groupname@instance.domain when you search for it or search using the full htttps://instance.domain/c/communuty in your home server search bar
