I think I was thinking "doas" the sudo alternative! Now I'm even less sure how they differ 🤔
I wouldn't call it lying. According to the Verge:
Mozilla Monitor product manager Tony Cinotto told The Verge in an email that Mozilla partners with a company called Onerep to perform these scans and subsequent takedown requests.
They aren't shy about saying what it really is.
And reselling is nothing new. iCloud is just Google Drive with an Apple skin. And I wouldn't say it's bad either if folks learn about Mozilla products, especially Firefox, in this way.
There's gold in them thar metadata mountains!
Yep. I get not rocking the boat... aaand that's why I went Fedora (but 40, in a couple months).
You’re not supposed to be able to lie to me! I had milk the whole time!
I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t go there.
It doesn’t by much. But this one’s going into Windows 😬
Save us, Europe! You’re our only hope!
I’d like to know too. That doesn’t seem to be into they share out much
Doesn't look like any of the reporting notes anything other than Chrome, so probably not. Seeing as how it's supposedly a bug, I wouldn't worry much.
I meant to reply but kept getting distracted while typing it out. It's my favorite trait of mine. 🙄 Sorry about that. But when we sat down to record the following episode, we ended up talking about what you wrote..
I really appreciate this insight. This is something we never would have gotten doing our normal digging. I have a lot of respect for folks like you for doing real hard work and still having it not quite work out the way you wanted.
Thank you so much for sharing :)
