The original Moto G did this as well, then I replaced it with the latest G5 which did not and learn that the hard way

Amazing writeup, thanks for the nostalgia trip. Albeit I'm a Linux user since 2008, I did grew up with the internet since the mid90s. Things come and go, but perseverance must stay forever.
I use Codium on both PopOS and MacOSi, it's a bit slow to start, but performance is good, but I don't know how it compares to stock VSCode since I never tested it. But overall I'm very happy with it.

almost everyone I know that uses reddit just switched to the official app if they weren't using it already. Whether we want it or not a lot of normies started using reddit in the past few years and they just don't care.
