😄 No worries. "Help is on its way". I am sure that Microsoft will release the source code of Vim 0.1 optimized for Windows very soon! /s /j

Someone else posted this : https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/archlinux/archlinux.html

And yes, AUR can imho be seen as an unofficial and not particular endorsed part of Arch Linux :)

Like someone else already wrote : GUIX is a GNU Project. If you look how very long it took for Debian to include non-free firmware with the installer (Since Debian Bookworm) one may start to appreciate the difference between free software and open source.

I am interested in GNU Guix, and I've tried the OS (on x86 platforms) a few times but found it quite slow to install and perform the next steps. When I searched today for running GNU Guix on Raspberry Pi 4 I can't find clear instructions or whether it will work.Am I missing something ?I guess I can run the Guix package manager on top of for example Debian, and then learn some more Guix.

Yes, indeed. But the Linux kernel is just the kernel, small compared to a Linux distribution user land with a massive amount of packages to choose from.

When I wrote my comment I was thinking of the municipality workers with these gadgets in my area, sometimes using no ear protection! Hardly anyone at home, where there's mostly just small gardens, uses these super noisy things. The city council probably thinks that they are saving a lot of money and time and giving their workers a much easier time. And like I wrote : I've read that devices running on electricity are quite silent. If there can be electricity poles for E.V. why not for this ?

With the rise of the Fediverse driven by Elon Musk's continued efforts to make Twitter unpleasant for the majority of people, it has been interesting and exciting to see increased interest in forms of Social Media outside the corporate hegemony dominated by Twitter and Facebook over the last decade.

Truthfully, for a lot of us who had been on Twitter pre-2012 or so, Mastadon, with it's user-curated stream of content, feels more like a return to something that was lost instead of something new. There is an excitement about Mastadon, it's underlying protocol ActivityPub, and the collection of inter-operable apps and servers that make up what we're now calling the Fediverse.

And I'm glad for it.
