your ssd looks completely normal. The long one is the power connector that you connect to your PSU and the short one is the data connector that runs to the expansion card through a cable. It'll fit, don't worry about it
also make sure that your PSU has a free sata power connector
there are these cards that you can plug into pcie x1 slot. I got a similar one plugged into one of the servers at my work and it works just fine
