Yeah, i remember going to see it mostly because of 3D (which probably helped a lot in becoming one of the most successful movies ever, thanks to the novelty and higher ticket price).

But left so little impact that i can hardly remember anything about it and have no interest whatsoever in seeing the sequels.

The theme park in animal kingdom was fine

I don't think grasping and visualizing are the same. I am sure you can grasp the concept of 3. Like 3 cars waiting on a light, or 3 slices of pizza.

If the limit was visualizing, the answer would be zero, since some folks can't visualize at all.

Just your regular reminder that the President of the United States is ~~deranged~~ in the Epstein Files and trying to distract.

i'll have to agree they need to return to their old name. Washington Football Team was great, they should return to that

MAGA is a demagogue movement. you can easily compare it with any other demagogue movements in history, if you want to

The difference between now and the past is that our current world already produces enough of everything to be post-scarcity.

We produce enough food for 10+ billion people, so anyone going hungry anywhere is a policy failure. We have technology and materials to give everyone shelter, so anyone being homeless is a policy failure. We produce so much disposable clothes and electronics devices and other stuff that it is literally thrown away unsold in the desert.

There is absolutely no reason for people to have to toughen up, just to have access to basic human necessities.

the way i see it, is that a nation needs some unifying factor, and i much rather it be some positive ideals than the fact that people are just born nearby or have the same ethnicity. That being said, i can see how it can easily be used to drive up nationalism, so i am not fully sure that the way it is, being forced to kids, is the best way

am i stupid? i don't get what the intent of the message is? what other interpretation is? (english is my second language, so i might be missing some colloquial term here?)

I haven't used AI agents yet, but my job is kinda pushing for them. but i have used the google one that creates audio podcasts, just to play around, since my coworkers were using it to "learn" new things. i feed it with some of my own writing and created the podcast. it was fun, it was an audio overview of what i wrote. about 80% was cool analysis, but 20% was straight out of nowhere bullshit (which i know because I wrote the original texts that the audio was talking about). i can't believe that people are using this for subjects that they have no knowledge. it is a fun toy for a few minutes (which is not worth the cost to the environment anyway)

it's funny, because I would much rather do 100F over even 20F. anything below freezing starts to be really uncomfortable; but 100F can be nice for me if its under 50% humidity. above that, and specially about 60% and it starts to be annoying.

but i 100% agree that it is easier to put more clothes to keep the cold away than it is to cool down when it is hot; but i like the toasty

i mean, single digits is also leathal; 9F is much worse than 100F. it is just easier to warm a room than it is to cool it down, but if you had to be exposed to the outside temperature 9F will kill you, 100F won't

yeah. it is not that "mice don't understand why the cheese is free". they don't understand the concept of ownership or money to begin with

Hi! This is the map for the island country of Ava-Lodise. It is a modern country, with similar levels of technology to our world. The largest cities are Avalí (the capital), Suhr, Senadi and Hirrea. There are several different ethnic groups in the country, from Avalonian (from Ava, the smaller island where Avalí is), East Lodisean (the east coast of the large island), Flahrian (south west of Lodise), Veeker (west of the desert) and Senmi (north of the desert).

I made it for a project that I am really proud of how it looks, but I can't share it here because for that one I used a lot of AI generated images: A Travel Guide to Ava-Lodise.

here is one example page of that project (i removed the AI-generated images):
