Hate to be that guy, but you’re looking for effect here. You’re describing the effect (end result) of a change, not the affect (change) itself.

I understand the point you’re trying to make, but it’s not possible to find a middle ground between fact-based reality and outright fiction.
That should be polarizing. We as a society have to stop taking people seriously when they look at the political equivalent of a house on fire and want to debate if the fire is really that bad instead of how we should put it out.
It’s a large enough percentage to reach the White House, and unfortunately that’s all that seems to matter.

I don’t think you’re being honest but just in case, let me help you. The implication is, this country has a fascist rot that needs to be excised before it kills us all.
Once the fascist party pretending to be conservative gets out of the way, the conservative party pretending to be liberal can take its place.
Then we might actually have a shot at a true progressive movement in this country.
Fascism is incompatible with democracy.
