They only have 66 subscribers and I thought you guys might like them.

I'm not affiliated in any way.

The one I linked is particularly short but the others are longer.

Manual crosspost because long story.

I did try that when selecting the crosspost option but it wasn't available to post to in voyager when selecting crosspost.

I'll just post it separately in the morning. Getting late here. Thanks though.

Well that's heartening. Thanks.

I’m blown away though at just how much more of it, and how deeply rooted it is.

Same. Same. I'm feeling like I must live in a bubble (nobody around me is like that) and also that it was also always there, they're just more comfortable taking their masks off right now. It's depressing.

On the flip side though the people I have around me are mostly family and my kids. I have zero social time beyond that at the moment. Two of my kids besties are not white so I'm at least absolutely sure I'm raising my kids to not be racist pieces of shit. It's something.

I genuinely expected that tweet to be a "you had me in the first half". Like the naggers scene in south park. Fuck that guy. Absolute filth.

I tried but the search option in voyager didn't bring it up as an option. Tried various combinations.

Is that a voyager issue?

Oh lots more detail in that. Thanks!

100 of their breaths, uninterrupted by any movement, change or disturbance of any kind. That was my hard learned rule.

Absolutely terrifying putting down a light sleeper. Terrifying. 😭

Yeah it was utter capitulation. Very weak look and a blow to citizens confidence in the EU as an institution. I'm raging.

Great comic!

I have to recommend a podcast about the original America First movement during the WW2 era called "Ultra". I can't recommend it highly enough. Another lemming told me about it and I ate it up.

It involves an attempted coup, infiltration of Congress by the Nazis and the death of a sitting senator. Honestly you'll enjoy it.

Link to Spotify.

I am with you. I like this one a lot.

Oh one other idea is your local electronics recycling centre. Our one frequently has battered Chromebooks. One by the same brand might do you. The folks in our one are friendly and would definitely give it to you for free so you might get lucky there too. Maybe leave your phone number with them also.

On your question about the loose power - I'd say that's a dry or loose solder joint. If you're comfortable with a soldering iron it should be easily fixed. Occasionally a heavily used connector just loses grip and if that's the case a gentle squeeze with a pliers will do you.

Good luck! If you can't find one for sale it might be worth posting up in a local Facebook group or equivalent asking if anyone has one. Folks frequently don't think of selling broken kit.

I would probably search local online markets for a broken one of your current Chromebook. The battery will likely do what you want and you'll have it for other spares too.

Mine has a few that I can think of but I'm definitely forgetting some:

  • Snig: a secret stash. Usually of cash but it could be chocolate or whatever. Pretty sure this one is unique but I'd love to hear otherwise.
  • Sero: (seero) seriously. This one isn't unique.
  • James floody (flew-dy) ah-doody amen: Weird chant in the hope that something comes true.
  • edit: pinchies: little bit of food before it's ready. Usually meat but as I'm cooking pancakes I just gave some pinchies and it reminded me of this thread

I'll get it started. I just had Aldi noodles for the first time and they were pure shite.

So....Lidl is better for cheap noodles (the 5 pack ones are very decent at only 30c a pack in the 5 pack).

Aldi has a far better frozen section generally IMO.

I mostly use the deck in desktop mode recently as my laptop died and I have it hooked up to a dock with monitor and keyboard.

I'm having a bunch of networking issues lately. Basically the network becomes incredibly unstable after some time and a reboot fixes it. Restarting networking through systemd does not fix the issue. Same with disable / enable networking in the dropdown.

Ping is going as high as 10,000ms where after a reboot it's 14ms and I'm getting 5-15% packet loss.

The router is about 7 metres away (22 feet or so).

I do suspend quite a bit. System is fully up to date. Just rebooted and now it's fine.

This is just for fun, but it looks like 1M will be reached if the last week is anything to go by (over 40K signatures in the last 12 hours so if anything it's speeding up).

So....Place you time and date below. Winner gets bragging rights!

edit: Don't forget to add a timezone to your guess

It only appears occasionally. I have no alarms set, no timers, stopwatch etc. running.

Android phone. Searching got no joy.

Update: it was a scheduled message in signal. Didn't want to send my bestie memes too late at night. It does use the actual alarm icon though, weirdly.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Just move your phone around. Really cool!
