KDE Testers Assemble! Plasma 6.3 Beta is here.

The first big KDE release of 2025 is just around the corner. Plasma 6.3 will be hitting desktops in about a month. Meanwhile, we need testers to try out the beta and submit bug reports so we can work on making it perfect.

⚠️ATTENTION KPhotoAlbum USERS!⚠️ Update to KPhotoAlbum 6.0.1!

Version 6.0.0 contains a bug that can lead to data loss in the KPA database. Several special circumstances must concur for this to happen, and the photos themselves WILL NOT be affected, only the tags.

However, if you have a lot of tagged photos, this will be a major inconvenience. So either skip 6.0.0 or upgrade immediately.

You did it! You helped KDE raise €50,000... and €100,000 elsewhere.

We knew you were all very magnanimous, but your generosity has exceeded our expectations.

Thanks to your contributions we can all look forward to doing great stuff in 2025. See you there!

@merthyr1831 @kde@lemmy.kde.social
We asked a designer to make a logo we could use for the Plasma 6 _CAMPAIGN_, not for Plasma 6 itself.

We asked for something that would remind people of the Plasma logo (a folded piece of paper with three dots), but that also looked like a 6. This what they came up with.

So no, not the new Plasma logo.

Sorry.

We will keep the campaign open so, even if you can't donate by the deadline, you can still get a chance to be mentioned in our acknowledgements later on in the Plasma 6 series.

You make it possible for us to do more and better things for our community and users.

We are completely floored by your generosity, and thank you for helping us keep KDE running and producing free software for the world.
