Maybe there would be a chance of a new admin team, however the legal owner of the hardware has gone no-contact and the sysadmin moved on to other projects.
I guess being hyper interested in something can lead to gaining a lot of knowledge.

I'm not in the workforce yet (I'm a student) but i hope the situation improves before i finish Uni.
I cant say i have. other than being the weird outcast kid in school, That's a universal thing i imagine. I have not yet entered the workforce so i don't know the situation there.
We had a similar situation here in Poland in the 00's and the early 10's. I was a kid then so i don't remember any of the bureaucracy but i do remember having to go to a bunch of doctors to finally get an reluctant aspergers syndrome diagnosis.
Please consider contacting an addiction specialist. It sounds like your life quality is significantly impaired because of it.
