They succeeded in getting GTA5 pulled from the shelves of two of the largest physical distributors in Australia.

My favorite old cookbook is a wine cook book. The author is an obvious and unrepentant alcoholic that perfectly demonstrates the time period it was written in. One of the recipes was literally "melt a bunch of cheese and stir in wine while it cools, then pour the wine cheese into a loaf pan to solidify", encouraging you to have a glass while you do so.

The simulation is intentionally choosing the most convoluted and incomprehensible content possible in order to try and stop us.

Because the second number has special rules and a unit. It's not just a pair of numbers, though it can be represented through a pair of numbers (really helpful for computing).

People were distributing edited versions of the dress image just to fuck with people. I'm convinced that trolling was the root of the entire "debate".

There are some rather stark differences between the old and new testament depictions of God. The only two ways to reconcile the differences imo are that either Jesus led a pretty standard major-religion-themed-psychedelic-"love"-cult or that the Gnostics were on to something about this reality being a prison created by a divine abomination and that Jesus was trying to save us from the OT "God".

Banning it/them simultaneously goes too far and not far enough. Instead, explicitly legalize self-defense against anyone that fails or refuses to identify and validate their identity while performing official activities. Turn hiding your face and badge number into literal suicide.

The smart oil producing countries have worked hard to diversify. Too bad they're in the minority.

Anyone who makes peaceful revolution impossible makes violent revolution inevitable.

When you're being assaulted and have no way of knowing whether they're going to kill you for being trans (something you know happens with alarming frequency), why would you show remorse for defending yourself against a violent, "pure evil" bigot?

In a world where cis men have been deemed not guilty for murdering trans people just because they couldn't tell until they got to the sex, there is no way I'd hold a trans person guilty of murder for defending themselves from an ongoing assault that very well could have escalated to a murder against her.
