The Now Playing and Airplay changes with WatchOS 10 are driving me nuts and I'm wondering if theres something I'm missing to bring back the expected behavior.
I have two major use cases - Airpod Pro on my iPhone normally, and Jaybird Tarah with my Apple Watch 6 GPS when exercising. I do not bring my iPhone with me while exercising and the Airpods don't stay in for me while active. All audio files are local to the watch and I randomize all songs. My iPod shuffles did this perfectly for years. I never use my watch to control Audio on my phone.
Until WatchOS 10 this was fine. Normally I would go exercise and my music would resume onto my Jaybirds with just opening Music and pressing play. Worst case after an restartI would have to go into Music -> Songs -> downloaded -> Shuffle All. Too many presses but not always necessary.
With WatchOS 10, the watch always reverts to wanting to control playback on my phone. Therefore every workout makes me go and select the Jaybirds in Airplay (5 presses), then go to the Music on the watch only (another 6 presses). Its the same if the iPhone is within range or not.
Is there a way to revert this behavior? Or perhaps have it remember the last used device? I don't care to control non-watch audio from my watch.
