That's great! Glad it's working out.

One thing made me chuckle though:

with only 4 gigabytes of RAM

Am I just old or is 4GB actually loads of RAM?

Same here. And their mortgage is lower than my rent.

Can't complain too much though cause at least I can afford rent. Many other young people are still living with their parents, need housemates (who aren't their significant other), or live in squalor.

Still, our generation has been fucked over in terms of housing. Home owners get so many benefits (loads of tax breaks, ability to install solar panels, etc) while renters are stuck. I don't see it getting better anytime soon either.

I read the original post as: one "megathread" per game. Maybe I misunderstood but one thread per game seems like a good idea to me.

Edit: nvm that's how it is now. I also think that can stay. A megathread of tons of games... Don't think that works and would just make things confusing.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Sheffield... There are many more clubs with sketchy as fuck owners (or previous owners) who made their money exploiting other human beings. I'm glad there are some leagues with actual rules against these sort of things but in France and especially England it's a free for all where I'm pretty sure Osama Bin Laden and Stalin could have co-owned Everton or something as long as they promised to invest enough (blood) money.

The response from PSG is so telling:

"The club regrets that the Disciplinary Commission has opted for an excessive and collective measure, likely to undermine the work of dialogue and prevention undertaken by the Club with associations, institutions and fans."

They could/should have said "homophobia is wrong and we condemn is. Neither our fans nor our players should be singing these hurtful chants. We accept the punishment and shall be donating ___ € to [insert LGBTQ+ organization] as well as send the players involved to [insert related community program]."

Obviously PSG are villains so this would never happen, but imagine a world in which football clubs and players would use their position to make the world a better place? It's so goddamn easy and I think it's important to remember that PSG is choosing to be this way.

I think basically all companies have insurance for this. So unless you're very incompetent as a business owner, no company will go bankrupt because of it and it protects workers a lot because when you're that sick you can't work for two years there's no way you'll find another job.

[–] johan@feddit.nl 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah well that's the max. Any sick leave shorter than that is also paid.

That is outrageous. I'm from the Netherlands and just looked up how it is here. You get paid 100% for the first year you're sick, 70% for the second year. Then in most cases you can get financial aid from the government.

That's not how you use €

The whole article is in English so it makes total sense to use it they way they did. The € sign doesn't determine where it goes, the language does. In Dutch it would also be €10, not 10€.
