The farmer commits atrocity on their cattle, this seems more than fair.

Back in the day, employers built housing and street cars to connect them to work.

It's an investment for you but it's an expense for your clients. It's an investment for you because if you sell it, you're not homeless. You can realize the return on investment. I'm a poor person who is fortunate enough to own my home. It doesn't make sense for me to think of my home as an investment because I can never realize the return.

If I need to buy a pacemaker or an artificial heart for however many hundreds of thousands of dollars, you would call that an investment. That's absurd.

oooooohhhhhh this explains so much.

Ok. People are already dying. The market is being artificially held high to keep Boomer's investment portfolio in the black. People are going to keep dying until real estate turns over to the next generation and the market crashes. Let's just cut to the chase.

Thanks for spreading this idea!

You are not going to find a big group of homeowners who want to rent at a loss out of the goodness of their own hearts.

You do often find big groups of homeowners who want to charge just enough to cover current and future expenses. They're called coops and condominiums. Homeowners who practice collectivism can reduce their expenses and increase their security.

And your preconceived biases, don't forget those. You were eager to believe your mistakes.

Real estate doesn't cost money, it makes money. That's not 21 trillion (*) dollars of cash. That's 21 trillion (*) dollars of debt in mortgages. Which earns an income and pays for themselves.

Coops and non profits are other viable models.

The existence of mom and pop landlords is what keeps prices DOWN

Citation required. You could just as easily argue, "The dominance of corporate landlords is what enables private landlords to keep prices UP". I see no indication that anyone is taking a hit so that they can keep prices down. That sounds like foolish talk.
