Not only that, once reddit IPOs they are tied to wallstreet and must beat wallstreet quarterly estimates or else. They already had trouble turning a profit, they are going to pound the users with shit no one wants. That was already happening, but it's going to get worse.

My money is on Fuckerberg. At least he stays in shape with his billions. I don't understand how Elon is so fat when he can pay people to literally put healthy food in his mouth like a baby.

Some rich people got put into a submersible where the glass hatch is bolted to the vehicle. The pilot then proceeds to turn on the Xbox controller to activate the vehicle. None of these rich people thought they should ask if the vehicle had and safety precautions, or perhaps a fucking steering wheel. The media has gone nuts over this story. Like "balloon boy" nuts.

Idiot took advice from another idiot and is in shambles. I feel bad for all the staff that worked for years expecting a big pay day, but that day was never coming. I don't see how anyone can make money off of reddit like experience and not destroy it.

I also feel replacement mods are scabs, but I've been enjoying all the free time I've had lately not browsing reddit. I'm actually getting shit done. I'm ashamed of how much I used that site. I will not go back.

I've been thinking of going complete 2003 and going back to flip phones. I'm just tired of the greed over wanting me to see ads. I fucking can't stand ads and go out of my way to avoid them, including monthly memberships like YouTube red. Reddit was trying to force me to use their app so they can collect more data to show me ads.

They have been running a top 10 website without any idea how to make money off it now they are killing it trying to squeeze profit out of it so these psychopaths can have a wallstreet pay day. I spent 15 years providing content to the site bcz I loved it. I signed up so long ago I don't even remember the agreement I made with then upon sign up. Fuck em.

Digg tried to make money off it's communities ASAP and killed it. Reddit tried the slow burn: build up users for 15 years and then pull the rug. It's hard making money from a site that has all it's users do the work. The only value reddit has is automated infra, which in the days of auto scaling k8s clusters is not that unique.
