I watched True Detective about ~10 years after it was released.

Watched Season 1 first. Great experience. I generally prefer movies (most TV shows just feel off), but this is something you can recommend.

Skipped Season 2/3 because of bad reviews. Watched Season 4 because I like "small communities in the far north" settings. S04 was solid, although I felt the core hook was never defined. Is this a more mystical movie? Cultural commentary? It was great to see Jody Foster (the first movie with her that I watched was The Silence of the Lambs as a kid when I didn't really understand the movie), but something didn't connect.

Decided to watch Season 2. While in many ways it was very flawed, I found it far more rewarding than Season 1 or Season 4.

It had a gritty and realistic vibe. Flawed characters trying to do their best. A realistic ending. Social commentary without being overbearing.

In my opinion, Season 2 of True Detective is by far the best season. And I say this as someone who has a massive list of things that I felt were annoying and unrealistic about Season 2 (list is bigger than for Season 1 or Season 4). But Season 2 felt real and the overall narrative arc felt like something any of us could experience (versus Season 1/4 that were more of a fairy tale for adults).

Don't know if they'll show it in the cinemas where I live, but if they do, I will definitely go watch the remaster.

At first I thought this was from the 90s or the early 2000s, but turns out this was released in 2018!

I am going to go watch it this coming Thursday (first day when it's available in English in my country).

With respect to Moon? Yes, but the movie has been out for 16 years.

The cloning in space narrative was also covered by Moon (2009).

Truman show, as strange as it sounds, to me it offers a greater sense of adventure and a journey of sorts.

Excellent idea! Although I think as per canon, the ship is basically derelict and flooded. But that could be part of the plot.

They're pretty unique for goa/trance group. Their stuff doesn't really fit into standard labels.

Excellent space sci-fi, horror. One of the best around outside of the Alien franchise and other well known release like Event Horizon or 2002: A Space Odyssey.

Silo is an American science fiction dystopian drama television series created by Graham Yost, based on the Silo trilogy of novels (Wool, Shift, and Dust) by author Hugh Howey. Set in a dystopian future where a community exists in a giant underground silo comprising 144 levels, it stars Rebecca Ferguson as an engineer who becomes embroiled in the mysteries of its past and present.

So with 6 episode released of Season 2 so far, what are your thoughts about the latest season?

I binged watched the whole of Season 1 after it was released. I really enjoyed the season 1. The overall setting was compelling (you wanted to learn more about what was going on) and I thought they integrated the police procedural elements really well. Rebecca Ferguson does an excellent job as the lead.

Just started reading the first novel, I am enjoying it so far. I am hoping it will provide more in-depth lore and better character development.

Season 2 feels like a solid continuation of the series. Perhaps the biggest issue I have with season 2 is the pacing. There is a lot going with different arcs and character relationships, but we are already on the sixth episode (there will be 10 in total in season 2). I feel like some of the arcs are a bit rushed and disjointed. At the same time there are elements that I feel drag down the pace.

Some of the actions physics and plot elements (the concrete cutters) undermined the suspension of disbelief, but this I am willing to overlook this.

I also suspect Season 2 will end on a somewhat predictable and unsatisfying cliff-hanger. Admittedly, it would be difficult to match the novelty of the first season.

That being said I am looking forward to watching the remaining episodes in Season 2 and I will definitely watch the subsequent seasons.
