It really is a unique experience. There are of course books that provide a more impactful view on existentialism. But books are passive. Soma is one of its kind in terms of active media, where you are the protagonist (on some level).

It's one of those games that I think highlights that video games can be art.

People often forget how far we've come.

An "upper middle class" person in Europe during the medieval period had a house (more like a barn) with two rooms; one with a fire around which the whole family slept and another one with a workshop for making random stuff.

And that was high end, because the average bugger was slaving away on the fields.

My childhood is ruined. No Doubt and Gwen Stefani were top in the 90s and to a lesser extent the 2000s.

Stefani also looks super fake in the thumbnail photo.

Lots of stories of DIY implanting an RFID chip into your hand or finger … and mostly a whole bunch of stories about infections, a few about ‘wait the battery died now i have to dig it out’ … basically just learning the hard way all the lessons actual medical implant designers learned 30 or 40 yeats prior.

To me this soundness like madness, perhaps even a little bit of degeneracy (in the functional meaning of the word, the intent isn't to primarily use it as an insult).

Why do you think anyone that actually knows anything about cybersecurity laughs at the idea of having a ‘smart home’ filled with easily hackable or just self-bricking bluetooth doodads?

I do a lot of DIY project with my SBCs/Raspberry Pi and I am not simply not comfortable opening up my services to the wider internet. They all stay on a local network.

This is a surprisingly detailed analysis.

I thought this was funny. :)

I never watch trailers. Word of mouth (IRL or online) and a brief synopsis is enough for me.

First time I am hearing about this movie. Will need to add it to watchlist. :)

Cheers!

Appreciate the comparison to the Taliban. Makes you look very reasonable and not all unhinged.

I have already read the first link you posted. As I mentioned in my OP for this thread, it is not convincing or logically sound. He literally says "It is not a bad thing that Republicans have moved so far on this issue". Zero critical thought about this.

Keep on acting obtuse. Hitler/Bitler. "You didn’t ask “what did the attempts accomplish”, did you?" Asking for outcomes on anti-trust is the same thing as “they completely obliterated Big Tech”. Small steps? What small steps are you talking about? We both know there are none and if any future action will happen it will be for show only and will never have any real impact.

This sort sleazeball rhetoric is why I don't trust people like Yen and you.

I am done here.
