That’s normally how all price increases work.

It’s not overnight, it goes into effect in a month. The Q4 quarter is here, my guess is they need to make up money somewhere to close out the year good. Come Feb when they announce they earning for not only Q4 but all of 2023, they’ll need to show they made X amount of dollars. Some account somewhere told them that based of subscriber growth you’ll need to charge this to make that buy a certain time frame.

Have you guys seen the production value of ATV+ shows? Now factor in that they are getting A listers to star in their shows. Imagine if they had the quality + the quantity. You can’t expect to keep paying $6.99 or $5.99 for a service when their shows are costing six to seven figures per episode.

Yes, I understand that & if you saw my latest reply I eluded to that. I’m saying for a show that was a critical success & somewhat commercial success, the promotion was lacking from the studio. A show like Loki, that has nowhere near the success as For All Mankind, has been promoted everywhere with no actors helping. So like I previously stated, while not ideal, a studio can find ways to promote a show without the actors.

Wow I see Apple really dropped the ball with the new season premiere. I haven’t seen any marketing at all for it. I just happen to scroll my “what’s next” and saw it. I know there/was a strike going on, but this is one of their flagship shows that was also a hit with the public & critics.

I had this same issue, the only way I fixed it was doing a factory reset on my tv.

Everybody saying the $4.99 price was a great deal doesn’t understand how business works. Apple produced $100 million tv shows for the first few years. It was a great deal for you, but a shitty one for Apple. The more they spend on content, the more the price will be. Anywho doesn’t understand that needs to look up the definition of business. With any streaming company, if they are going to have 2-3 big name actors in a show on a consistent basis, expect to pay for it.
