I think you're far too old to be this obtuse. Older men complementing younger women "especially when naked" is always going to be read as sexual. Intentions matter far less than actions, so if you want to insist that you didn't mean to be creepy, that doesn't change the reality that what you said to her was exponentially creepy.

Whole thing is heart breaking all around. I feel for the technician who made an honest but very serious mistake. And I'm sure the wife will spend her days regretting asking for help. Just a fucking tragic situation. :/
