The "objective" types really piss me off, you can't be politically objective when your material needs are conflicting with those of your oppressing class. Assuming that a person thinks rationally and has the required knowledge, they will always support their own subjective side whether that means voting for a certain party, protesting, or even taking up arms against their oppressors.

Years of indocrination to believe in the "democratic vanguard of light that is the west" and appealing to our human instinct of compassion with images like this is a powerful combination. Even NATOpedia correctly states deep down in the article that no one died in the square itself and what happened in general was hardly a massacre, unless you're willing to put the same label on so many things that happen it the west. But the huge majority of people won't do the research when they've already been convinced sentimentally.
