Hi, new NixOS user here.

Liking it so far but just hit an issue that I'm having trouble getting past. Pages in firefox cannot access my geolocation, even after I hit allow when the page asks for permission. Same with the default Gnome maps app, it just places me in a central location of my countrys capital (I don't live in the capital).

I've added the following to my configuration.nix file and rebuilt but it made no difference.

 # Geolocation
  services.geoclue2.enable = true;

  environment.sessionVariables = {
    # Allows geolocation in firefox
    MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND = "1";
  };

What am I missing?

It means I managed to climb to the top. "Problem" is the term used for a specific route. Plays on the fact that climbing is not just about strength but also technique and problem solving. ๐Ÿ™‚

Where is the confusion? ๐Ÿ˜… Bouldering is a form of climbing. 6B is a difficulty grade. Fingers are those things on your hands that you use to grab stuff.

Sent a 6B bouldering problem after recovering from a finger injury for a couple of months.

I believe I've tried this but will do it again.

Yep, I've checked, still using smart charging. I can charge to 100% when charging at daytime hours, but it just doesn't go to 100% in sync with the alarm.

I've been using the smart charging feature on my Pixel 6 since I got it and for the past few years it's been working as expected; I plug it in in the evening, it charges to 80% and only starts going to 100% when my wake up approaches.

For the last month or so this has however not been the case. The alarm goes off and I'm still at 80. Has anyone else noticed this feature breaking?

I haven't had any changes in morning alarm time that would warrant some kind of adjustment period of the "smart" algorithm.

Steady progression with push ups. Doing 100 for one day each week (along with other gym visits) and it keeps getting easier. I wish I could say the same for pull ups.

App hasn't been updated in months with no contact from the dev. I suggest you download another app. Boost and Apollo are good alternatives.

Yesterday I tried to format an old SSD and failed miserably. The drive is an Samsung 840 Evo, probably around 10 years old.

The drive had previously been the OS drive for an old MacBook which I no longer use. In windows disk management I saw that there were three partitions, an EFI system partition at 200mb, a primary partition where the majority of storage was located and a third one at like 600mb which I think was called something like "boot".

Since I now want to use the drive for storage only (no OS) I thought I might as well get rid of all of these partitions and format it to one. Disk manager wouldn't let me erase the EFI partition, which in retrospect I probably should have taken as a sign.

I google and find out how to erase it using diskpart and continue to do so. All partitions are now erased. But when I go to format it it refuses to do so giving me an error, "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error" both in Disk Manager and diskpart. If I disconnect and reconnect it Disk manager loads slowly and then tells me it doesn't know if the drive is MBR or GPT. When trying to select one of them I again get the I/O error.

I also connected it to a Mac, but was not able to format it there either.

So, is there anything I can do to get my drive working again? And what exactly did I do wrong?

Thanks!

What app are you using in the meantime? I've tested Jeroba, Liftoff and now Connect which I feel is the closest in layout and feel to Sync.

Really looking forward to Sync! ๐Ÿ™‚
