I agree with those people, if we knew exactly might even understand the Answer of 42 as well.

VW already has a buyer, the Uber taxi service company. The two firms signed an agreement in April for cooperation in the US. According to Senger, Uber plans to purchase up to 10,000 VW e-vans over the next ten years.

You can hate Uber for many things but them buying 10,000 units is definitely a nice foot in the door to the american market (which has a lot of money, which is required to go from cool idea to real product.

Not so sure about that. I mean vw is an actual car company so in that aspect they will easily deliver a superior product but i read nothing about the technology that's gonna make it happen. Tesla's can do quite a lot quite well already compared to any other commercially available car and vw is (like the rest of the European car industry) years behind on the software required to achieve real autonomous driving. I mean i'd really like this to succeed but wouldn't call it a low bar.

Edit: so I saw a video showing how far VW has gotten lately, they have prototypes of a modified ID Buzz driving around in Germany and they seem to do better then Tesla. Since there is 30K worth of sensors on it, this model will not be sold to consumers but I was way off.

Totally true, which is why i myself most of the time use the words gay and queer (and totally enjoy using those words knowing what they were originally used for). But that doesn't make the letter soup a bad thing. The 'hardness' of it is functional. There might be someone out there who demands all letters are used and in the right order, but don't mistake me for someone who thinks it is fair to demand representation, respect and understanding isn't something you claim so i believe you are totally free to go for the easier thing. 0 judgement from my side.

According to the article, they were not there as groundkeeper or landscaper or anything practical lol. Even funnier, the earlier trend seems to have been to create an impression of someone living in their garden (like a garden gnome) before they actually went on and hired a real human being as accessoire for their garden. In that way I can totally see rich people one upping each other with their new 'toy'.

In some early instances, hermits were simply represented or hinted-at, rather than personified; outside a folly or grotto, a small table and chair, reading glasses and a classical text might be placed suggesting that it was where a hermit lived. Later, suggestions of hermits were replaced with actual hermits – men hired for the sole purpose of inhabiting a small structure and functioning as any other garden ornament. Hermits would sometimes be asked to make themselves available to guests, answering questions and providing counsel. In some cases, the hermits would not communicate with visitors, functioning instead like a perpetual stage play or live diorama

It's already a law for anybody born there. Not the otherwise they'll bomb your home part, but the send money part for sure.

Just add a + to the letters you remember if you don't want to use a term like gay or queer. Also, i have never met someone upset because their letter was omitted.

[–] huppakee@feddit.nl 6 points 2 months ago (4 children)

On the one hand yes, that's why at some point people started using the + to make up for every missing letter. An easy way out would to be to say non-hetero-non-cis-folk but then you still miss some groups. You could just say gay people, or queer people, most people will still feel represented. But I like the long string of letters which is a true abomination because of all those letters, exactly because each letter represents someone (a bunch of them even) and it allows for conversation going. The number 2 for example got a lot of people who read this post informed about two-spirited people who maybe never heard those poeple exist before. That matters a lot. If you see for example now republican politicians talking about biological sex even though they never seem to have heard about intersex people it shows how much of the hate comes from not knowing and not understanding. If you've read all this, I hope you've not read it as an attack because it is not. You going on google is exactly the point. But if you don't like doing that, please know (most) gays dont believe you have to, people know they are a minority and often don't mind just telling you about their sexuality or gender when you ask.

I don't disagree, and this is a fail from the side of the french government. But at the same time, 'large company diverting money put aside for marketing to safer roads' is actually good news if you ask me.

According to BETC, Paris, rubber speed bumps have been banned in France since 2009 due to their slippery surface during heavy rain. Despite this, they are still largely used in France as small municipalities lack the financial resources necessary to upgrade them.

Alongside the agency, French car brand Citroën is offering to substitute France’s outdated speed bumps with safer branded alternatives – the cost of which is equivalent to a billboard ad. The Bumpboards, white with a logo and tagline, are installed in partnership with local authorities in full respect of all regulations in place.

Thank God they'll soon have a Trump phone to sell, imagine how lost they'd be without all that revenue compensating for these losses.

Nice

The trend continued through the 1830s, when the idea became less popular as estate landscaping concepts evolved.
