If after the term (let's say 12 months) they renew it with a month every month I don't mind it that much, but when they lock you in for longer (let's say another 12 months) it already feels criminal - good thing now it actually is in Belgium.

There was backlash about this company in the Netherlands leasing office printers to businesses, who get a fixed amount of prints included in their subscription and then pay extra for prints above their limits. This could be a fair business practice, except if you don't cancel within a year they renew your contract for 8 years (o and also, those low prices you paid in the first year were 'introductory discounted prices' but you'd only know if you read the small print). I would not be a happy customer even if they provided good service.

They shouldn't have fees. We're only getting closer to a cashless society and there is no way your boss will agree to pay you in cash (well, depends on your field of expertise i guess). If we put the only alternative to using digital money behind a paywall we will surely end up with a monopoly with high fees.

the intentions were good

Didn't doubt that and since there is no way of knowing the intentions of the people who up/ downvoted i'm assuming they meant no harm either. Also, it's not like I always know or understand the context either.

But if minorities want people to not stereotype them, they shouldn't do so themselves either.

It's a good thing you call them out on it. If it were some politician arguing on behalf of the diary industry saying 'people who drink plant-based milk are some semblance of queer' I'd be upset and would appreciate anyone speaking out so it would definitely speak of double standards if I blamed you on this one.

The reason I decided to write it down was more because I guess it's good if people (not necessarily you) realise they might not have gotten the vibe it was meant to be read in and think twice the next time. But at the same time I know understanding the context is not an easy thing to get right all the time, not for me at least. So it's all good.

They say they need money to get people to vote, but i prefer a broke candidate over a corrupt one to be honest

They're the same picture. The 'prisons' America builds are what Germany would have made if they had the tech & materials etc we have today.

Their audience is gay folk, them making a joke that might upset a straight person isn't a problem for them. I would totally call this within the limits of what should be accepted as innocent humor.

To be honest, i feel rejected as a gay person, not because of your comment directly but by all the upvotes your comment got and all the downvotes this post got. Not saying that's your fault becausr it is me taken something personal where i shouldn't, but can't really help it as it comes from leftover trauma caused by all the actually hurtful jokes of queer people i've encountered in my life.

The caption below the graph in the image states that is how you should interpret the results in some places:

The map compares the popularity of the U.S. and China in each country based on their net perception score (measured as the difference between the share of respondents with a positive perception minus those with a negative perception of each country.) The country with the higher net score is relatively more popular, or less unpopular.

Didn't read the linked article when i first saw this post, some more interesting (though not surprising) results from the poll:

Trump recorded the worst score among a range of political, cultural and spiritual leaders that includes X owner Elon Musk, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the late Pope Francis, Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian.

Israel emerged as the country with the worst global reputation of those included in the poll, especially in the Middle East and South Asia. Israel is unpopular even in European countries that have historically been its allies, such as Germany, signaling growing discomfort with its government’s conduct in Gaza and the West Bank.

I was so confused by the thumbnail of Tomorrowland. So here's the deck and first paragraph of the story:

Authorities interviewed Israeli pair after they were seen at Tomorrowland music festival near Antwerp

Belgian authorities have said they briefly held and questioned two Israeli citizens who attended an electronic music festival last week, after pro-Palestinian groups accused them of war crimes.
