I'm joining the war on fire... on the side of the fire

Depends on if you want a partly funny allegorical sci fi flick vs (what seems to be) an all out action comedy

That was a much more philosophical analysis than I expected, but then it is the New Yorker.

There is something to be said about the fact that by the Golden Rule, we should only categorically avoid having children if we would rather have never been born (and while that's a popular meme, I doubt people who remain alive actually believe that).

Ideally shoot for 5-7-5, but it's chill.

As long as it's around that length, and easily split into three lines, it's fine by me.

As a GIMP user, this goes so hard

Or even artist on one and album title on the other would be cool

Feels like it's straight out of Weathering With You

I remember thinking it was a regular visualiser and then gradually having my mind blown

Every day the call of the high seas gets stronger.

I think a surefire way to help with this would be to have a rule that any instance that becomes the largest one on Lemmy should lock itself instantly. That way, we'll only surpass the current max number of users on a single instance until it's completely spread out

I love this! Wish more movies did those classic style posters.

I discovered this hidden gem quite by accident. I like to take edibles and progressively watch weirder stuff as time passes, to align with the intensity of the high. The Beekeeper was supposed to be the first watch, a simple run of the mill action thriller.

Then the uncanny valley started. Not specifically in a visual sense, but the pacing of the cuts, and the dialogue. There is something very slightly off no matter where you look, but that clashes with what you expect from a Jason Statham movie in just the right way.

There is also so much left unexplained and unexplored in terms of the plot that it feels exactly like when you're high and everything feels like it's going out of its way to be undecipherable.

All of this combines with the honestly decent action and cameos by Josh Hutcherson and Jeremy Irons (who I think is trying to do a Southern accent, but he hasn't gotten back to me) to make for quite a unique experience for stoners and good-bad movies alike.

Have you seen the movie? What did you think about it?

Did you guys see this? What do you think about Kendrick popping up on the Carti album?

Just waiting for the edible to hit. Have you fired up? What's the vibe? Gimme your undiluted high thoughts on what's happening.

spoilerMy personal interpretation of/reaction to the French Dispatch

I was looking around, and realised we don't have a single functioning equivalent to r/PhotoshopBattles. On a quick search:

We should revive the lemm.ee instance, but imo there is merit to starting afresh with a name that isn't tied to a proprietary closed-source piece of software, like image edits or editbattles

If there's anyone who's interested, please take it up. I don't mind being a mod, but I can't be the main (let's be real, sole) contributor right now. I've got my hands full with !fakealbumcover@lemm.ee, and that's just putting text on images, not even close to realistic edits like this demands.

Drawn in GIMP

I foresee a follow up album called PAY YOU FUCK ME

Check out the always fun !sillydrawingrequests@sopuli.xyz

Feel free to post your drawing to !fakealbumcovers@lemm.ee btw :)
