If you want to see where Jews in particular are most safe you'll find it's where human rights are respected and all are treated equally under the law

You make it sound like that’s the default for humanity as opposed to almost the opposite as proven throughout all of history.

No one’s arguing racism is a good thing. I certainly am not.

Listen lady, I got good buddies that died face down in the sand so we could enjoy these freedoms!

There is a growing sense that India's political leaders are assholes.

In another time I would have stuck up for Columbia University here.

Imagine treating a coup-plotting shameless president this way.

The Bureau of Land Management implemented four rules today that create more leeway for oil and gas companies wanting to drill on public lands, as required by the spending bill President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress passed in July. But voters will not have a chance to comment on two of the rules.

Note that they're also making it impossible to locate wind or solar on public land

Well, if white people as defined by a religion were consistently and routinely scapegoated, mass murdered, and made illegal in almost every country they settled in, maybe they’d have a case to make that they want a land where that can’t happen again.

I disagree it should be where they chose, I disagree it should be called Israel, I definitely disagree with pretty much everything they’ve done in the last two years and a hell of a lot of what they did prior to that. But I don’t disagree they have a right to exist and be left alone.

Thats why the meme doesn’t work for me, it’s not a real comparison in terms of why they want a land of their own. What they DO in that land, yeah fair enough but that’s a different meme.

I get the Likud are fascist shitheads who must be stopped and held to account for their crimes. But that’s not the same thing as saying there shouldn’t be a safe haven for Jews, which is what the meme implies.

First of all, that sucks and I’m sorry. It’s the worst. I think almost everyone has been there.

And almost everyone will tell you it absolutely 100% for true gets better. No shit, it gets better in almost every way.

Situational depression is a thing. Talk to someone about temporarily using a serotonin inhibitor to stay out of the lowest lows for awhile. There’s no need to rawdog it just because (like the rest of us) you’re a stupid guy who’s been taught to hide your emotions and act stoic in the face of heartbreaking shit.

And make some plans. Do out-of-the-house things. Anything.

It takes about a year to get some distance, at least that’s my experience. But there’s no need for any of it. You’re going to be better, happier, and wiser. It just takes time and being nice to yourself in the meantime.

What NOW, TheHill? Motherfuckers, this rapist has been off the charts gibbering for YEARS. You could have called this out before the election. You could have thrown everything you have into stopping this obvious descent into chaos and fascism.

And now you have the balls to sit there and be like “wow he’s fucked in the head, gee what should we do”?!

FFS GTFO TheHill.

That is a sharp photo! Dang you could cut yourself on some of those edges.

Beautiful owl too!

  • Consolidates power by stripping non-partisian chair from hiring duties
  • Does so in surpise five-minute vote without discussion

“This is a last-minute request I was not aware of until five minutes ago,” Fervier said.

“Life’s full of last-minute things that happen,” Mills responded.

The back-and-forth over hiring authority came after the board hired a new paralegal and assistant to the executive director who was criticized for not having a legal background or formal legal training.

The new hire, Hope Coan, is the wife of former executive director Mike Coan, a Republican ex-state lawmaker who left his board position earlier this year.

The nonpartisan chair Fervier tried to raise concerns about the appointment, but was cut off by the new executive director Mills.

“I do not think this individual meets the necessary qualifications for this job, and the hiring process itself was improper,” Fervier said. “That is out of order,” Mills replied.

Hope Coan’s LinkedIn says she is president of Coan Construction. The staffer she is replacing was certified as a notary public, completed a paralegal certificate course and had worked for more than a year as a paralegal at a law firm.

Democratic member Sara Tindall Ghazal said she was not included in the search at all.

😱

ATLANTA (AP) — U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced Tuesday that she won’t run for governor in Georgia in 2026, putting an end to her flirtation with the race in a long social media post saying she is turned off by a political “good ole boy” system and alleging that it was endangering Republican control of the state.

Greene chose earlier not to run for Senate under pressure from Republicans who feared she would hand a second term to Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff. But she told reporters she might instead run for governor during a June appearance at the Georgia Republican Party convention in Dalton, where she wore a “Make Georgia Great Again” hat and discussing state issues.

. . . “One day, I might just without the blessing from the good ole boys club or the out-of-state consulting leeches or even without the blessing of my favorite president,” Greene wrote. “One day, I might just run purely out of the blessing of the wonderful people of Georgia, my family and friends, but it won’t be in 2026.”

. . . In her social media post, she alleged that a “very established ‘Men Only’ Republican firm is unfortunately overseeing the slow slide from red to blue” and that self interest is blocking the GOP from addressing real issues.
