wow yeah this article is a load of bullshit. A steaming pile of journalism. Actually a bit of an insult.

My full time job is considered part-time because of this. Plus I just found out we don’t receive jury duty compensation because we’re seasonal workers that’ll just get fired at the end of the season anyways.

For Security+ I actually liked the Gibson book more. Felt like it sat down with you to explain the relevant content while not using confusing or verbose language (e.g. Dion training videos).

i have my security+ test tomorrow and despite all my free time i absolutely cannot focus on filling those gaps either

Sort of, but for very specific purposes. I think PopOS or System76 have kernels that use different CPU schedulers, but I don’t think it affects battery life, just desktop “responsiveness.” Make sure your CPU is hitting the lowest C states. Make sure your NVMe drive can do so too or if it’s blocking the CPU from lowering its C states. Linux might be less energy efficient on newer laptop hardware because it lacks vendor optimizations that Windows has. Tried, been there. If you’re trying to optimize I’d recommend TLP/power profiles and throttled.

Every now and then my Samba share stops working.

$ smbclient -U sambauser '\\192.168.12.11\Apartment'
do_connect: Connection to 192.168.12.11 failed (Error NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED)

This is incredibly annoying, since it happens somewhat frequently too. I restart the container, with no fix. It might be client-side, but I'm boggled by how that could even occur. There are no logs in systemd for smbd. The firewall is disabled.

I had literally never heard of the sleep deprived channel until I encountered this video after like 5 dabs.

This shit was the funniest thing I thought I’ve watched. That and IASIP.

Sister spilled liquid over her A2289. I know I can get about $100 for it on the marketplaces, but I don’t want to sell something with personal data on it.

Would you just remove the motherboard? Storage is soldered afaik and I’d need to buy their special screwdriver to open the case.
