So, they recognize that how people identify is important? They just choose not to recognize what they identify as. That seems like it would open the door legally to force recognition of identity. IANAL.

Useful medical drugs need to prove they are effective before being used. That's not a bad thing. Smoking is a remnant of historical habits before it's dangers were known. The crime is more that we allow it to be used and marketed to new customers. New Zealand has the right idea by increasing the legal age annually but that got shot down.

Allowing drugs to be used without proof would likely lead to more things like smoking causing harm, not less.

Oh, I know the mods of larger mods tried to monetise but I thought that was more in allowing posts from advertisers to appear as grass roots and to silence other voices. I didn't realize they were being baited along with promises of payment.

It's funny that the value in reddit over lemmy is the small communities. While they could certainly be monetise, doing so makes them lose their value. Lemmy has the same generic large communities but lacks the volume of users to have as many niche communities. hopefully that changes over time.

I think crashing the dollar is more likely to screw the boomers than the young. They have the wealth which will devalue. The super wealthy with generational wealth will be fine as inflation will help their assets. the boomers transitioning from assets to cash for stability in retirement will be screwed.

A lot of the cash will go on healthcare. But a bunch will go on trips in retirement and other stuff..of course no wealth transfer any more except for the uber wealthy.

It's a case of the young no longer having a large sun of money at once to buy a house while also taking housing off the market. This reduces supply and demand keeping prices somewhat affordable for corps but out of reach for people. Renting is the new serfdom.

When experience from Ireland, Vietnam, Japan, Germany, France etc all yell us that grudges disappear when people are free.

The IDF soldiers fear is misplaced. The rulers of Israel fear not having a subclass bogeyman.

Distract from what?

Sell all their homes to corporation in a reverse mortgage, so they get the cash now and the homes stay off the market for young people.

Lol, you think steam decks won't go up in price too? Sanctions affect everything. If you already have a deck you're unaffected but if you already have a switch you're also unaffected, for now..

I have a PS5. I don't intend to ever buy a console again. That era is dead.

The idea is to make sure others don't release damaging data, and that they fudge the numbers or lose their job. It's a warning as much as revenge.
