I doubt there's any practical way to keep votes 100% private, there's always a workaround. Playing whack a mole on this stupid little thing is not worth it

Tires fitted with TPU tubes supposedly have measurably lower rolling resistance, something to do with how the tire and tube interact when the tire is deforming under compression

Didn't Cisco have a 10.0 score cve this year?

Yeah no offense taken. You explained well why there was a problem and it's always a good thing

First of all, has your own experience with Windows been so traumatic that you actually feel it's proper to compare it to spousal abuse of all goddamn things?

Secondly, using emotionally manipulative false equivalences like that do nothing to further the argument, it just shuts it down by spreading feelings of guilt in the other partly.

Might not have been the best comparison as another commenter mentioned

Thirdly, people are allowed to ask for more privacy without evangelists like you crawling out of the woodwork to guilt-trip them into making a change they may not be ready for.

Sure, you can ask but you're asking hammer to stop being a hammer. Modern Windows is not built to be private, but the opposite of it, it's a marketing platform.

Fair enough, could have used better comparison

"I want my partner to stop beating me daily, but I don't want to leave them"

They keep beating you as long as it's profitable for them - and you keep it profitable

There's some nazi instances like explodingheads or whatever, but everyone has and continues to defederate from them instantly so it's not much of a problem for users.

But just look around here for any time someone posts a link to a 404 media article and you get "Ugh. Fucking scammers want to rugpull and steal all my personal information" for... wanting ANY email to be used for a free account to just limit the impact of bot/ai scraping.

I don't want to create a fucking account on every single fucking website I enter to read a shit article about some random bullshit

That's just making the internet even shittier place than it already is. Telling your readers to eat a hatful because scrapers are not respecting robots.txt? Please step on lego

I see you have done your research

Since the last Post I grabbed some cheapo alu forks and cranks for 1by setup, and the bike is starting to feel great. I had a weekend trip with brother in law and realized I really wanted to add then some proper panniers and aero bars for more comfort over longer distances.
Oh, and replaced the old tiagra derailleur with a grx, works great with tiagra 4700 shifters

Photo from the trip

Now also considering throwing in some 27.5" gravel wheels with 40mm-ish tires and disc brake conversion, but not sure if I want to commit on that yet.

YT Industries GmbH has initiated a legal restructuring process under German law, entering into self-administration to secure the company's future.

In a press release from YT Industries, the German-based brand said "despite strong global growth and a loyal customer base", it has been "severely impacted by the global discounting battle in the bike industry, problems with suppliers and uncertainty in the US market related to tariff policies." YT Industries said it was "compelled" to enter legal restructuring proceedings under self-administration as the company has "no further funding available under the current structure."

Markus Flossmann, founder and CEO of YT Industries, said it was "not an easy step for YT, but a necessary measure to actively shape the future of the brand." Flossmann added: "We are already in discussions with potential new partners and are confident that we'll be back on track soon."

Currently, YT Industries remains fully operational with business continuing as normal during the restructuring process. Customer service and warranty support continue to be available and new product launches are still on track to launch in the coming months.

For any further support, YT Industries said its customer support can still be reached through email and the North American entity of YT is unaffected.

Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk would like to ‘delete all IP law’ | TechCrunch

Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter (now X) and Square (now Block), sparked a weekend’s worth of debate around intellectual property, patents, and copyright, with a characteristically terse post declaring, “delete all IP law.”

X’s current owner Elon Musk quickly replied, “I agree.”

Had a crash on mountain bike back in January and couple ligaments snapped in the ankle, time for a fix and upgrade in a form of some braces there.

Hospital drugs were amazing. Woke up after only 3 hours of sleep but felt great, had a good core workout and even dug up my laptop to do some work I was excited to get on to. Somehow high as kite and brain on overdrive managed to solve a problem in backlog that's been stressing me out for some weeks already.

Got out later that day, and after a great lunch and some more legally obtained narcotics managed to get couple more hours of sleep in. Evening was some good slack and watching TV with wife.

Next day started strong, woke up very early but felt rested and after a cup of coffee a good short workout again. Sit-ups straight and lateral, push-ups, biceps, triceps.

Feels good right now, hoping to keep the motivation up going for the next 3+ months without mountain biking. How do you fellas keep up the spirits and motivation to keep training through injuries? Any fun stories to share? I'm probably going to spend a lot more time in Lemmy for a bit, might start spamming this comm too a bit ;)

Grabbed the bike for 80eur from a local online market with all original parts and swapped on some stuff found laying around at home like saddle, bars, Tioga levers, 10sp cassette and derailleur and pedals.

The fork is dead, probably crushed elastomers, otherwise runs like a beast. Currently planning to swap bigger tires (race king 2.2"), single chainring in front and probably a rigid fork, though haven't yet decided on that. Would be fun to repair the Marzocchi Zokes if I can find parts

Personally, I found myself getting injured easier and easier every year growing "older" (I'm still only on my 30s). Whether it was neck pains from working on the desk or leg injuries from falling on BMX or a mountain bike.

It's been a year now I've been training multiple times a week in gym, sessions with PT, group trainings and solo, and kinda starting to enjoy it - looking forward for the next training session even if it's just 2 days apart.

Found this cool blog post listing European bike brands

Not all(most I assume) are made in Europe, I think Taiwan is one of the most common :(
