Bagent ran a boring offense but don’t forget the 6 and 7 minute scoring drives. They helped the defense rest and kept opposing offenses from finding rhythm. Fields needs sustain drives otherwise the defense is going to look just like it did the first few weeks.

If the bears run it back with this squad they will find a new rock bottom. It’s a Christmas miracle the players haven’t checked out yet. The players know this coaching staff doesn’t have the formula for success. They like money but they’ll want to win too. Think about what Roquan said. Do you think DJ wants to waste his skill on bad teams his whole career? It’s the final countdown to this era in bears football.
Realistically Maye or Williams may not work out. But also Fields has not worked out. I have opinions but I’m not an expert on these things. Vegas however is. The points went from lions minus 10.5 with Bagent starting to lions minus 9 with fields starting. If the bears move on they will have a rookie contract at the qb position for more years allowing to add better players at other positions without being hamstrung by a large qb contract.
Flus and company are just ramping up for the playoff push next year. They’re even stockpiling timeouts.
