By doing so, they actually reduce the value of DMs and Twitter itself for even blue subscribers, since they no longer can receive messages from most users.

Mess up their handling so they lose control and hit somebody? This is totally f*cked up.
Sure vote, but don't fool yourselves that it has a very significant influence. The degree of manipulation by gerrymandering, partisan structures, bias toward rural southern states in the electoral college, and billionaire corporate dark money spending leaves the actual accuracy of voting in question.
Pure P2P doesn't scale well, especially for content which is generated by a few, and watched by many.
Saw this first on Mastodon, came here to get more perspective. At this point, I'm pretty sure Threads:@katienotopoulos is a parody account, and that former Buzzfead writer Katie Notopoulos is not the "Editor in Chief" of Threads.

All the Lemmy and kbin instances can see anything posted on any other instance. It's all what they call "Federated" content. Best to pick an instance which is not too overloaded, but still has plenty of links to existing Federated content. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that if you or anyone else on your instance subscribe to a "Magazine" (like a subreddit), then your instance will have an established link to that Federated content.
Admins probably did a sloppy keyword recursive search going back a long time in scope. So a post of yours from a couple years ago said something about olives and they thought you were saying "John Oliver" for example, which is clearly grounds for a permaban. (sarcasm)
I believe I saw a workaround for the /kbin "404 not found" error. You must first connect with the primary URL string, and then a subsequent call to the URL containing the specific magazine.
Measure of traffic is not a good indicator, since unmoderated subreddits will be full of trolls and chaos, generating traffic.
For pour-over I use 350ml (350grams) of filtered water, to 24g of medium course ground coffee.
When I think of "neo-liberals", I think of corporate Democrats. They serve their own set of wealthy oligarchs, and do minimal lip service to the needs of normal people. They are in the center. The right has gone completely off the spectrum into an authoritarian fascist nightmare. There are many billionaire oligarchs who fund them and create their media propaganda. I'm progressive. I suppose some think that is the "left", but it's really just wanting government policy which prioritizes the needs of working people.
