I've been preparing for this my whole life, plenty of food preparation for hibernation.

People ignore speed limits. You design the street to feel best at the speed you want people to go.

One of the States, I think Maine? Took a road and adjusted the posted speed limit at various points spanning like 20 mph differences, and at all posted speeds the average actual traffic speed was still the same. Because that speed felt right for that road to most drivers, regardless of what was legal.

If there are good alternative options for public transport, then the slower speed limits and roads designed to slow traffic will gradually shift people to use those options instead.

There's enough MAGAts online here that actually believe that shit, and post those exact types or comments. Hard to tell the difference anymore.

It's not about hurting the case, it's just irrelevant to the charges in court. How a suspect is stopped while fleeing isn't usually relevant to the charges against them. Especially since it wasn't an officer that stopped them, but a civilian. That information will of course be in the report, but it wouldn't be relevant in the court proceedings, especially not needing them to testify in person.

Both are against the Republican cult's beliefs. Science in general, but especially climate science.

Bullshit. This is the propaganda employers use so employees don't have information to make educated decisions. There are already industries that have payroll information available to all employees, or even fully publicly available.

The simple fact is most people don't resent each other for being paid less, they resent the employer exploiting them, as they should.

During COVID I worked at a cell carrier, we all joked about having perfect 5G coverage after being vaccinated. L

It helped that the store had a repeater so if there was a customer making the same joke we'd point out the reception on their phone.

I think that's why they're having the National Guard do it. Turns out the ICE employees aren't even as qualified as a fifth grader.

I'm getting really tired of Congress abdicating their power of the purse to the Executive. They talked about that shit like it was the holy grail for decades and then one shit for brains comes along and they decide they don't care about anything anymore.

That's almost surely a result of how Valve works internally for approving projects. They operate with a flat management structure. With no bosses or managers, the employees themselves choose which projects to work on. The philosophy is that Valve only hires the best, and they should operate at their best doing what they enjoy instead of simply being told what to do.

Every employee at Valve is given the freedom to join whatever project they choose, or to create a new one. They are encouraged to work on what they feel if the most important project to the company and what will have the highest direct impact on their customers.

If the Valve employees wanted to make Half Life 3, they would. At this point the joke is that Valve simply can't count to three. It feels like they want to keep that joke going more than make another Half Life game. Half Life 1 and 2, them Episode 1 and Episode 2, Portal 1 and Portal 2, Team Fortress and Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike 2. Several of these have had other interim releases, especially Counter-Strike, but those were always based on the previous game and not a totally new game from scratch, much like the Half Life Episodes.

Don't discount the PR from Exelon being complete dogshit. Actively lying to the public instead of actually explaining what was going on and when getting caught by the public and called out by the media trying to double down.

It screwed the entire industry. It proved to the public that they couldn't trust a company to tell them the truth when the issue wasn't really bad. There's no way they'd tell the truth when things were actually bad.

It destroyed the entire industry's credibility in just a few days.

NASA and Boeing officials pushed back Friday on headlines that the commercial Starliner crew capsule is stranded at the International Space Station but said they need more time to analyze data before formally clearing the spacecraft for undocking and reentry.

When in Summit settings, searching for "mu" causes an immediate app crash to home screen as soon as the U is typed. No option to report issues or submit feedback.

Only have this device to test at the moment, but I can get it to do it every time.
