I just upgraded my computer for the first time in a decade to a 7700X and Radeon 6700XT. I'm doing my part!

It's a Lemmy thing, not just on jerboa. I just sort by "top day" to see the top posts from the past 24 hours. Once I've seen most of those, I switch to new all, which keeps a decent amount of new content coming through.

The platform is still young, so it's a combo of a) not enough content yet and b) early sorting algorithms that paradoxically haven't caught up with the influx of users yet.

I went back and forth between my SNES and N64. SNES was better for RPGs and a lot of 2D action games, but the N64 was much better for multiplayer/party games. If I had to pick one, I'd probably go SNES, but it was close.

I get almost all of my clothes from thrift stores, though nowadays that's usually not much savings since many thrift stores are charging MSRP or higher.

I'm picky, but I go often, so I find decent stuff at least once a month for pants, shoes, coats, etc. My taste in shirts makes it difficult to find at thrift stores, so that's the one piece of clothing I usually buy at outlet stores.

Belts is something else I'm particular about, since the cheap, crappy belts most places sell fall apart in a few months on me, so a few years ago my wife got me two expensive, full-grain leather belts, and they've been all I've needed ever since.

Dark Reader is what I use. I rarely notice it slowing down page load times, and it hasn't been enough to bother me so far. The thing about it that does bother me is the rare occasion when specific websites look weird with it, but I can just turn it off for those specific sites and it's fine.

It does seem that both hot and active are moving pretty slowly. I've found that "new" is actually the way to see a constant stream of new content, so maybe giving that a try will help.

I just finished blazing through Life of Pi in a single day today. I thought it would be obnoxious and tryhard, but it turned out to be a surprisingly interesting read and a hell of a page-turner. Gets a bit... weird... toward the end, but definitely a book I'd recommend, and one which I'll probably be thinking about for the next few weeks.

Onward to rereading Children of Dune!

Oh man, I'm so jealous at you getting to read the Dune books for the first time. I'm about to start Children on my third reread, and every time I read the series I'm just as enthralled as the first time. Dune + Children is probably my second favorite novel ever written, though God Emperor is close behind them.

Deplorable. Obviously inevitable, but deplorable nonetheless. Definitely not going back to reddit now.

Subnautica. One of the best experiences I've had in gaming.

Outer Wilds. One of the most creative and thought-provoking games I've played. Definitely go into this one knowing as little as possible about it.

Hollow Knight also deserves a spot here, but personally I preferred Salt and Sanctuary.
