I think the employers underestmaite how poorly they're treating their employees while making record profits. Most of the point of unions is to fight unadulterated greed and force employers to share the wealth with employees. If employees can't afford basics like rent and food then employers are gonna have a bad time. The wise employer would pay attention to how employees are doing and do their best to take care of them instead of laughing all the way to the bank.

These unions are working exactly as designed.

Civil forfeiture is really insane. I don't know why it isn't outlawed.

It is interesting to me that in most western cultures it is legal for someone older to be with someone younger, as long as everyone's >18. Legally allowed but very unpopular and socially frowned upon.
Then you have asian and other cultures that see this as pretty normal and advantageous for the younger one. The younger partner will not have to struggle as much in life because the older one is usually in a better place financially, etc.
I've landed on not agreeing with my culture. Why can't a 50 something date a 20 something? Do we believe in consenting adults or not? I know some people don't like it but I've yet to hear a very solid explanation of that. Mostly people say it's "icky" or similar. You not liking it does not make it wrong. Maybe your hangups are wrong.

François loved listening for enemy planes. Except when Pierre came along and screamed into the device. That motherfucking Pierre!

Apparently "smartness" has not invaded projectors...per a comment I read here on kbin a while back from a projector owner. This really encourages me to buy one.

I (almost) always tip in cash. I hope this lowers the chance that an employer can intercept it.

This is how it always should be. There is no good reason for employers to pay less if someone makes tips. It is stealing...whatever the law says.
