Just in general cast iron has this sense about it like people think it's made of gossamer and not a chunk of literal iron. They aren't that delicate. Even coarse scrubbies are fine if not applied too firmly.

Sweet and salty is a good and valid flavour combo.

The obesity rate is high and increasing because the environment humans exist in changed. We aren't fundamentally different biologically than we were 100 years ago. Our food system very much is different from then.

Are we really going to have to start saying 'genos-unaliving' to get around content filters?

It's not especially challenging if we simply refuse. 2% is fine.

Of course the idea is that 5% of our budget goes to American weapons. Just another shakedown attempt from the wannabe gangster president.

People understand the concept of, "no infinite growth on a finite planet," but then refuse to accept that that holds true for us as well. The world population has more than doubled in my lifetime. Obviously we can't do that forever. Especially in the context of a climate crisis that is making less land livable over time. For completely practical reasons we are going to have to set up some kind of system that can function in equilibrium rather than requiring growth.

These things had such little impact I had entirely forgotten they were a thing that happened.

He developed a cult of personality around himself of significant size and used it to seize one of two pillars of political power in the USA, which then propelled him to power twice. Not smart as in "good for the world," but pretty successful in the, "empowering and enriching oneself at the cost of the commons" sense.

He's an idiot-savant. A total moron with a special talent for self promotion. Which it turns out gets you very far in life (along with the head start one gets being born wealthy).
