I removed the chat as it would be too much to manage

If you would like to chat with others, join the matrix space

Can you message me on matrix so I can help you with this?

I apologize, there has been some miscommunication to the moderators and lack of judgment on my part

I did not expect canvas to get this big this fast, I will talk to the moderators and make sure everyone is on the same page to prevent things like this from happening

Since the video doesn’t auto-play and it doesn’t fall under, what I would consider NSFL, I will be reverting your ban, I apologize for the misunderstanding

message me on matrix if you have anymore questions!

You can 100% join in, there's no instance requirements! Just hop onto the canvas and login with your selfhosted account :)

Anyone from any instance is welcome to join in on Canvas, there's no instance whitelisting/requirements

Instances can join in by posting a site-wide announcement promoting the event (similar to the one pinned right now)

I was thinking the exact opposite, people might’ve not joined Reddit’s but still want to do an r/place-like thing

With r/place still on people’s mind I think it would have more activity then if we waited

It will be run on a separate website

As of right now only Lemmy accounts can login, but other fediverse platforms may have the possibility to be added 👀

There’s two archive-friendly solutions Lemmy could take to solve this tho:

  1. Detecting archive services and doing a full render for them
  2. Instead of using api requests and adding them to the DOM, having them link to a separate page that has the comment thread (like how Reddit does it)

I'm aware of 1 group that has formed so far

In our Matrix Space there's a sub-space that will have a collection of public group projects people can join

The plan for this is having a bot account send a code to your Lemmy account to verify your identity

So no need for multiple accounts 🎉

With federated services it’s generally a bad idea to fully delete an account, it’s better to mark the account as “deleted” so future requests can be notified of the deletion

This also prevents people from impersonating others
