Frieren has been really good, my favourite this season.

YouTube has also started attaching a Share ID of sorts:

The "si" query parameter is the tracker in question.

Presumably, it has your user ID embedded in it so all your efforts to concele your identity by using anon IDs on Lemmy/Reddit/Twitter etc routing through VPNs Tor whatnot can be shattered with a single share of a YouTube video. Plus, they can track and associate users with each other based on who all opened your link.

Using SimpleLogin, I create an alias for every new sign up and just turn it off if not needed. Only give your personal email to people not apps and websites.

Currently costs peanuts in India (have some good friends over there 🥸) and there's no password sharing crackdown yet. Comes down to $2 per person on the highest plan. As long as this continues, I'll stay subbed to Netflix.

On iOS, unlike Android, Firefox doesn't come with extensions. No ads are blocked. Even if I use Safari and Adguard extension, it doesn't block YouTube ads. Brave works like a charm in this regard. I've opted out of all telemetry stuff that I could find, and btw even Firefox opts into everything by default. Any other open source browser you can suggest that blocks ads including YouTube on iOS?

Thanks to EU, you'll be able to contact these people on WhatsApp without using WhatsApp.

What's becoming mainstream these days:

Sender uses ChatGPT/Copilot/Bard to turn content summary into a big professional Email.

Receiver uses ChatGPT/Copilot/Bard to break down the big professional email into summary.

Time is saved but what a wastage of electricity (LLMs need GPU computation for faster output)!

I sometimes play my PC games on the toilet... thanks to the Steam Deck 😅

They need to noobify that prompt further, something like "Yes, break my system!". Even Linus wouldn't fall for that (I hope)!

Rival must be open source, otherwise we're doomed to be in this situation again. Go Godot!
