Also taking a toxic drug that is meant to kill parasites surely has side effects, so you maybe should not give it to people who don't need it, especially if they're already sick.

I will believe that warm water freezes faster only if I see it with my own eyes. It just goes against everything I know about thermodynamics.

FairEmail is free software and I like it better than K9.

Yes, understandable. But a bunch of lib students who think they deserve better careers and want to do full on shock therapy probably shouldn't be put in the same category as marginalized groups that do not want to eat shit constantly.

Why, also, do you conflate violence against workers or minorities with violence against liberals (and people mislead and cynically used by said liberals). These are not the same thing, and no socialist I know is opposed to political violence in principle. And neither, by the way, are liberals. One of these things is clearly always wrong, the other is or is not, depending on the circumstances.

Also, maybe read this thread on Twitter and also follow the sources there, as you seem to be under the false impression that the protests were entirely peaceful.

Imagine there's this guy at your work, who every day brings up some crime or another, but somehow the perpetrator is always black. So you tell him "Can you talk about something else?", to which they get defensive and say "Why don't you want to talk about this? Can't we all agree that this is bad?". If you let this situation go on for too long, you'll soon find your workplace taken over by open racism, and everybody who's uncomfortable with this is going to quit, reinforcing this trend.

This is what's happening on almost all western social media, and society in general, regarding China. Open sinophobia, hate speech, and calls for violence.

There's some capitalists in favor of UBI, but they usually mean barely above starvation level and also let's get rid of all other social services whatsoever. Fuck the disabled in particular I guess. Buy your own wheelchair we gave you 500 dollars! What do you mean you need 600 dollars just for rent?

There's a propaganda push in the west to demonize China, with the obvious goal of creating consent for a potential war. Even the Trotskyists of wsws.org (which have no favorable view of China) usually defend China from fake or misleading shit. Repeating US propaganda uncritically, or even criticizing China for good reason without proper context, is helping the US propaganda machine bring us to the brink of annihilation.

It's important to be truthful and fair, and not encourage sinophobia and war propaganda, so be careful when criticizing China.

I use Firefox (and I've used it since it was called phoenix, and I've used the free software mozilla suit before that).

BUT I've been very unhappy about the corporate leadership of the project for a long time. I don't trust them at all. They regularly do user hostile shit like ads and tracking and endorsing DRM, then act surprised by user backlash and backtrack partially, only to try again a couple of months later.

Many people who work there are clearly shit-brained corporate silicon valley types, and the leadership most likely cynical money-grubbing grifters.

I hope the various free software degoogled chromium forks all come together to make a good browser. A browser that works on both Linux and Android, that can sync all the stuff between both, and which has no tracking and good ad blocking.

Good answer. I'd be useless as a peasant. The nobility is probably not going to give me a job, and even if they did, I wouldn't like working for those fuckers. I could try to become a craftman's apprentice, and maybe some of my education might be useful, but this also seems shit and hard, and they don't just take anyone anyway. Monks would probably let you in more easily. My Latin is terrible, but just my overall education would probably be at least somewhat useful. Monks do all sorts of different stuff, I'm sure there's something I could do.

I don't see why distros should be married to a specific GUIs. Any distro can support any number of GUIs. It just seems like a huge waste of effort to make a distro just to support one GUI.

I would encourage people who want to implement their unique vision for a GUI to make their effort easily packagable by any distro and to work with an existing community distro to make their work available widely.
