Just a suggestion - don't say you "created" something when you then go on to say you had AI do it for you.

Ha! Was curious and just checked - they recently banned me from the same communities. I certainly don't go looking for AI stuff to downvote but probably have done so a couple times if I see it in /all and it's egregiously bad. Guess that was too much for them.

Imagine being so incredibly fragile that you ban folks because they downvoted a post on a site where karma doesn't exist and you had an AI create the content you posted.

I think as more people get sick of AI bullshit, the cheerleaders are seeing the reaction and thinking it's some dark conspiracy when it's just folks saying "Hmm, that's kinda crappy, isn't?"

That was the one that came immediately to mind for me - there was a behind the scenes thing where he talked about sourcing and using these very niche old lenses.

What I don't get about this is that a gallon of distilled water is like .99 cents at your local grocery store in the US. This is not a huge problem to acquire safe water to do this.

It's like every company in the world just hired the world's most incompetent intern, won't fire them after multiple mistakes, and we're all supposed to put up with it.

Can't wait for someone to rely on AI to update food allergen info on a product! 🙄

I really wish articles like this made it more clear that this was under government orders.

If they knew about the attack, wouldn't it have been easier to move the planes or stop the trucks carrying the drones? I admit the tires were weird, but may have been more to counter surveillance than to counter drone targeting. Can't see any reason why they'd let Ukraine blow up billions in critical hardware to prove a point.

This has always been the downside of the commercialization of space flight in the current environment. NASA may have its problems but they always knew the priority was making things work and be repeatable. This is antithetical to how Musk and the tech bros work - any success on their part is a fluke not a predictable result.

Was trying to figure out when this was published - looks like April 1949. Unfortunately all too timeless.

Yeah, this post is misleading as he just gave the commencement address this year - yesterday in fact. Already received quite a bit of coverage and some outlets have not only articles but the full transcript: https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-commencement-speech-full-transcript-2067064

Anyone not knowing that might see this and be confused as the date isn't noted in the post.

I've been married for more than 30yrs - and the sometimes harsh (but constructive) feedback an editor needs to supply is not a model for a lasting marriage. Also, a spouse has different motivations than a professional, independent editor provided by a publisher.

As for the writing, every single person who has ever talked to me about WoT mentions the world-building and overall story, but I've never heard anyone praise Jordan's writing style, dialog, or pacing - if it's mentioned at all, it's usually in the nature of "there's problems with the writing but the story makes it worth it." While the novels may resonate with folks for good reason, that doesn't change the fact that the writing - from a technical standpoint - is subpar.

Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08) and Congressman Don Beyer (VA-08) renewed their efforts to bring ranked choice voting to U.S. congressional elections, reintroducing their *Ranked Choice Voting Act *. Senator Peter Welch (D-VT) is introducing companion legislation in the Senate.

The legislation would require ranked choice voting (RCV) in all congressional primary and general elections starting in 2028, allowing voters to express support for multiple candidates for public office, with the candidate receiving the most votes declared the winner.

“Asked how many members of the House of Reps there were, Stein guessed 600-some before hosts corrected her.”

"According to FEC filings, the Synapse Group has worked for Republican Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota, who ran for the GOP presidential nomination this cycle, as well as GOP candidates for Congress. Synapse has also been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for field and canvassing work by America PAC, the outside spending group started by allies of Musk that has spent millions of dollars this election cycle to boost Trump and oppose Democrats."

There is no KBSF-TV in San Francisco, and, according to a BBC Verify investigation, the original website that published the story was registered less than two weeks ago. The photograph attached to the article, which supposedly depicted the crash itself, was actually snapped in Guam in 2018. And the video of Brown—whom the article and video misname several times—also appears to be a deepfake. The x-ray images of Brown’s spine, allegedly taken after the accident, can be traced back to medical journals that have no relation to the supposed crash.

A group called “Lion of Judah,” led by self-described Republican opposition researcher Joshua Standifer, is traveling the nation to recruit Christians to “key positions of influence in government like Election Workers.”

In light of at least someone around here announcing that they were switching from supporting the Green Party to the Socialist Worker Party, I thought it would be helpful to provide an introduction to the kinds of things that party believes in. This is offered straight from the party's official website without additional comment and it stands to reason that this viewpoint is endorsed by their presidential candidate Rachele Fruit.

Robert Reich articulated something that has been bouncing around my head since 2016

”This helps take away votes from Joe Biden,” the activist told one person at the rally, according to a video posted to X (formerly Twitter) by a Washington Post reporter. “We’re helping the Trump team who’s trying to get him on there,” added a woman by his side.
